Detailed Job Description
The ICU Staff Nurse will assess patients at the beginning of each shift, record vital signs and neurological observations, monitor oxygen support, fluid balance, pain scores, medication response and any signs of deterioration. The role includes administering prescribed medicines, IV fluids, infusions, injections and emergency treatments as per hospital policy; assisting with procedures such as line care, catheter care, sample collection and preparation for investigations; maintaining infection-control standards; supporting ventilated or high-dependency patients under clinical supervision; and ensuring complete nursing notes, handover records, consent-related documents and incident reports. The nurse will also support patient and family education, help maintain equipment readiness and follow escalation protocols during urgent clinical changes.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be alert, organised and comfortable working in a high-pressure clinical environment where accuracy and teamwork are essential.
